A Swift over Winlaton Mill this morning was new for my Gateshead year list, but the area was very quiet and little else was seen.
After lunch a trip up to Muggleswick gave an excellent singing Wood Warbler and a Pied Flycatcher in the same area.

Up onto the moor I managed to find a single Green Hairstreak. Unfortunately most of the bilberry and gorse has been strimmed and grubbed-out at this site.

A good walk at Winnow's Hill and a look at the reservoir yielded little, but there were a few Peacock and Green-veined White.
