A few days working in the far north in wintery conditions. Golden Eagle, Black Grouse, Twite and Black Guillemot all showed very well.
Back in Gateshead today for two good Gateshead year ticks, Grasshopper Warbler at Birtley reed beds and a Whimbrel at Burdon Moor. Both birds can be tricky to get in Gateshead and absent in some years.

Also today were Reed Warbler at Birtley reed beds and Watergate. Dunlin and Common Sandpiper were at Lamesley. Shibdon held 4 Common Tern and a Little Ringed Plover.
