A long over-night drive saw us at Meare Heath, near Glastonbury, Somerset. The Hudsonian Godwit was on show immediately, feeding with 120 Black-tailed Godwit. A very smart looking bird that even had a short flight to show us the black under wing. The bird came pretty close, but it was dark and dingy, not a day for photos.

To break up the journey home we called in at Leighton Moss where we had very distant views of the Pied-billed Grebe. Also here were Bearded Tit and 2 Marsh Harrier.
