All quiet for birds in Gateshead today. Just a single Black-tailed Godwit at Shibdon this morning.
A bit of sun meant a trip to Kibblesworth Brickworks was rewarded by some tantalising views of 4-5 Purple Hairstreak in the oak tops.

Other butterflies seen were Meadow Brown, Peacock, Large White, Small Heath, Small Skipper and Small Tortoiseshell.
Around the pool were 100s of Common Darter, 3 Emperor, 2 Black-tailed Skimmer and a Four-spotted Chaser with Common Blue, Emerald and Blue-tailed Damsel.
