Lbbg

On a grey, miserable day I put in a decent stint around Gateshead with little reward. At Watergate the Lesser Black-backed Gull was still on the lake with 4 Tufted Duck and 2 Little Grebe. A Dipper flew through calling and a flock of 50+ Chaffinch moved through the alders. Lamesley held another Lesser Black-backed Gull and 4 Wigeon. A Water Rail and 2 Grey Wagtail at Far Pasture and nothing of note at Shibdon.

  2. Not somewhere I've been. I know they used to breed, but both have declined massively. Still worth a look though.

  3. i read on the durham bird club 2011 lek, that the area has tree pipit, pied/spotted flycatcher even lesser woodpecker and Goshawk, I know these species used to be in the area but didn't realise they have been in recent years. I did go there once last summer(walked down from Dipton) but it was only a quick visit so yeah I may go again
