The Terek Sandpiper was long gone by the time I reached Newton. A good search of the scrape, pool, beach , then a walk up to the Long Nanny failed to turn it up. I did hang around for a few hours until the tide was almost in, but to no avail. Highlight and biggest surprise was a first summer Glaucous Gull that dropped into the scrape. Also here were a male Ruff and a Little Gull. At the Long Nanny 2 Common Sandpiper raised hopes. A few Dark-green Fritillary and Common Blue were on the wing for the walk back.
