It's been over a month since my last Gateshead year tick, so the juvenile Little Egret that dropped in for a few minutes this morning was more than welcome. The only other bird of note was a juvenile Grey Wagtail feeding in front of the hide along with Red Admiral and Ringlet.

Loads of dragonfly again at Kibblesworth Brick Works with 2+ Broad-bodied Chaser, 4+ Black-tailed Skimmer, 30+ Four-spotted Chaser, 1 Emperor and countless newly emerged Common Darter in the long grass. Also here were hundreds of Ringlet, Small Skipper, Large Skipper, Common Blue, Small Heath, Meadow Brown and Small Tortoiseshell.
