Forecast for constant rain today, so I headed for a seawatch at Whitburn to keep out of the weather. I wasn't expecting much with almost no wind and variable visibility, so wasn't disappointed! A Black-throated Diver did fly high, north with a flock of 7 Red-throated and the 211th Velvet Scoter of the year went past, just one short of the record.
