Waxwing saves the day

Yesterday was a bit of a write-off with heavy rain all morning and heavy snow in the afternoon. I did have a quick look around Gateshead, but nothing was showing in the grim weather.

This morning I was out in the snow, full of hope, but sadly disappointed. Bleak at Burdon Moor, iced-over at Shibdon and Lamesley, then the rowers were out in force at Stella, chasing off the gulls. The saving grace was the small flock of Waxwing at the Team Valley, fairly tame and sometimes in decent light.
