Some quality seawatching over the last two days at Whitburn. The northerly blow bringing a distinct wintery feel, both in temperature and species. Full thermals and winter clothes sort of combated the temperature, while Great Northern and Black-throated Diver plus a pair of Long-tailed Duck were the unexpected winter species. A good movement of Gannet, Puffin and Fulmar contained a few nuggets to help me brave the cold. Full results on the excellent
Trektellen website.

Manx Shearwater |
At Burdon Moor there were two reeling Grasshopper Warbler and a Sedge Warbler, but no sign of the Quail that had been heard briefly late last night. A bit warmer this afternoon and I managed my first Wall and Common Blue Damsels.
